If you like adding intricate and highly detailed assemblies to your plastic aircraft kits, and especially if you enjoy working with photo-etchings of the highest quality, we have something for you in our Flightpath Range.

If you like displaying your models in a diorama setting, and require accessories around them that are both accurate, and of equal detail to the aircraft they are posed with, then we can offer you a large range of kits and sets.

If you believe that weaponry is as important as the aircraft that carry it - then we have something else for you, as all the weapons in Flightpath kits and sets are fully detailed models in their own right.

Materials

We use resin for large three dimensional items, such as airframe parts and most weapons/stores. For some of the more complex parts, low-pressure injection resin is used. This minimises feed sizes, enables very complex parts to be cast as one part, and maintains the highest level of detail. This is an extremely expensive process, however, and the kits in our range that use this process, such as the Fireflly Mk.1 & 4/5 kits, tend to cost somewhat more pro-rata than other items in the range. We use cast metal for smaller fittings.

By default, however, our preferred material is photo-etched brass and/or nickel silver. The ability to generate so precisely the repetitious details so frequently found in aircraft, and the relatively low cost to high added value it gives to an aircraft model, makes it virtually unbeatable as a detailing medium for plastic construction kits. Once it is laminated as part of the assembly process, unlimited possibilities present themselves. Intelligent use of etched metal can lift the construction of what is often basically a toy into the realms of model engineering - into a hobby for the serious adult.

Construction Time

An ideal user of Flightpath sets and kits is, we feel, the kind of person who likes to choose a project, do his own additional research on the subject, and get right inside the construction process, with no thought of how long it might take, or when it might be finished. He takes the view that the longer it takes him, the more value he’s had from his purchase. The feedback from our customers is that the use of one of our large 48th scale sets for say, the Academy Hunter, or the Airfix Lightning will provide a good two-three months of modelling enjoyment.

If you are the kind of modeller who likes to build a large batch of aircraft primarily to depict colourful schemes - our sets will be superfluous to you. We hope that when you’ve made your kit, using our set, you might not even want to paint your aircraft!!! If you like one-piece plug-in replacement resin cockpits - our products will probably not be of interest, but if you like the stand-off super-clear detail that only the use of smaller separate components will give you - ours are most definitely the products for you!

PLEASE NOTE - our kits are not for beginners - we have never stated them to be so.
